Two amazing blessings.

May 10th, 2009 , Posted in boston massachusetts infant photographer, family, love, massachusetts child photographer, massachusetts toddler photographer, motherhood, passion, uncategorized

Jackson and Molly,
Today is Mother’s Day and it is the first Mother’s day that I am blessed to have TWO children call me Mommy!  My very first Mother’s Day was such a special day for me – a day to celebrate not only being a new Mom myself, but to celebrate seeing my own Mom in a new light – what a gift!  Now, as a second little miracle calls me Mommy, this Mother’s Day I feel just as blessed to have been chosen by another amazing soul to call me Mommy.  You both have given me far more then I ever dreamed.  You have both made me laugh more, cry more (both happy and sad tears!), live more, and be more grateful then any other time in my life.  Although I am supposed to be teaching you, you both teach me something new every single day.  Your smiles melt my heart, your giggles bring my tears of joy, your chubby little hands wrapped around my neck fill my soul.  You are my everything. You are my forever. I love you with all that I have.  Thank you for making me your Mommy…
I love you to the moon and back…

From my kids to your heart:

Happy Mother’s Day to all you Amazing, Beautiful, Unbelievable Mom’s!

Much Love

Greatest job in the world…

May 6th, 2009 , Posted in boston massachusetts infant photographer, clients, friends, massachusetts child photographer, massachusetts maternity photographer, massachusetts newborn photographer, massachusetts toddler photographer, motherhood, photography

In honor of our favorite bedtime book at the moment:

Although I believe I have the greatest job in the world (giving families the gift of their memories to have forever – how amazing, right!) – But, there is one other job that is even better.. being a Mom.

As we all know, I think being a Mom is an incredible honor and blessing.  Although there are many important amazing jobs out there, I think being a Mom the most important job in the world.    I think it is nothing short of a miracle when a baby is born. I think it is such an honor to be trusted with these little souls that you are responsible for – to grow, to teach, to learn from, to leave the world a better place.  Amazing, isn’t it!

Now, just because its amazing doesn’t mean it’s easy. Truth be told, its THE HARDEST job on the planet really.  This quote was given to me when I was a nanny but it translates to the role of a mommy as well, don’t you think?

What is a Mom: activities director, teacher, dresser, beautician, nutritionist, chef, hygienist, janitor, nurse, dramatic reader, performer, entertainer, costume maker, arts and crafts instructor, dance partner, chauffeur and stroller-pusher, personal shopper, secretary, historian, detective, confidant, companion, counselor, coach, bodyguard, self-defense instructor, tutor, cheerleader, appreciative, audience, hugger, boo-boo kisser, potty trainer, learner, listener, helper, peace keeper, lifelong influence, shaper of the future.

I bet all you Moms out there agree, don’t you? – AND you Dad’s should be nodding your head yes as well! :)

So why the gushy post about being a Mommy – Well to have a giveaway of course! Thats right – a giveaway for a Mommy who deserves it!  I know how fast these days with my little ones go – Somedays I just want to bottle it up and keep them this way forever… At least with my photographs I can do that… and now, you might be able to also!

* Entries must be received by Friday, May 9th at 12:00pm (noon) EST.

Mother’s Day Tea. Preschool Style.

May 6th, 2009 , Posted in uncategorized

I headed into Jackson school for his Mother’s Day Tea.  All of the Mom’s sat on one side of the room and the doors opened between the two classrooms to all the kids singing ‘you are my sunshine!’ I thought it was exceptionally cute since that is the song I’ve sang Jackson since he was born!  They sang another song about how much I love Mommy and Mommy loves me.  It was so cute!

As soon as the doors opened Jackson came running over to me since I was in the front as he yelled “Mom! Look what I made for you,” showing me the colorful pasta necklace he wearing! “Wait until Dad sees this,” he said!  I sent him back to sing with the rest of the kids.  After their little song performance we headed back to his classroom for refreshments and a little gift.  Jackson made a very sweet picture of flowers from his thumb prints – (picture to come later!) and gave me a little card too.  He made a picture of me that hung on the wall with a few ‘facts’ about me as well… He cracks me up – thats for sure!  Look at his answers…

It was a very cute morning – I’m so lucky to be his Mommy.  And the best part.. he even let us take a picture! … i love that little face!!

sandy piggies

May 3rd, 2009 , Posted in family, motherhood, photography

Sandy piggies could only mean one thing. its BEACH WEATHER here in New England! :) wwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

We headed out to the beach last week when it was 90 degrees – it was Mollys first beach visit in the warm weather and she loved it!  Jackson spent 50% of the day throwing rocks into the water to see the big splash and the other 50% on the swings! That boy would stay on the swing for days if we let him!  Here are a couple of the favorites :) …. In typical Jackson fashion these days – he wants NO part of the camera – soooo lucky ladybug had it pointed at her all day :)

This seems to be the only angle I get from him lately:

Watching big brother jackson venture into the *COLD* water :)

Check out ladybug’s first bathing suit of the summer – we haven’t picked up the sunblocker suit yet but how could I resist this!

Checking out the first time in the baby swing… not too sure yet…

ahhhh, i guess this IS fun! (can you tell we’re teething!)

Check out that pouty lip! Oh, how I adore her blue eyes…

Can’t wait until the beach is a daily thing – bring on Summer!
Much Love,
K
