I’ve been trying to play catch up over the last few weeks and I know this amazing family has been waiting for their Blog Sneak Peek! I absolutely love when I get to catch up with previous clients..aka..friends!  It is always so exciting to see how much everyone  has changed since our last session.  A few weeks ago, I had the honor of spending the afternoon sunlight with my little friends Charlotte and Trey (and of course their fantastic Mom and Dad!)  We headed out by the water to catch some memories that keeps the heart as warm as this sunshine..  Check out the love …

Remember this little tiny man…Baby J? Well, he is the son to that beautiful Mom up in the banner playing in the leaves in her wedding dress!  See where he gets all his good looks ;)

Well, he has since grown into a big brother, as his family just welcomed sweet baby Jake! I got to spend this morning with both of their sweet little faces. I just loved listening to all of Jakes tiny squeals and squishy noises.  I forget how many little noises the newborns make until a session like this comes along when I just want to scoop them up and bring them home! I’m not sure Jackson and Molly would like that very much — not to mention, this proud Mom and Dad and big brother wouldn’t let me steal him anyways.  But how can you blame me.. With faces like these, you’d want to take them both home too, right?!

just like that, in a blink of an eye, i have a 4 year old and an almost 2 year old. How.Did.That.Happen?

This year was a big first day of school in the Schimpf house – Not only was it the first day for Jackson who is the one of the ‘big kids’ of the school (the oldest class!) but Ms. Molly got a spot in the ‘little kids’ room.  She was wait-listed and at the very last minute got a spot and we couldn’t be more excited! I really believe she is going to thrive there and its exactly what she needs.  That and she pitched a fit everytime we had to leave Jackson but she couldn’t stay there last year ;)

Jackson – As you go into the last year of preschool, I hope you learn new things everyday. Make friends. Help others. Listen to your teachers. Speak up when you need help. Take care of people that are sad or hurt. Giggle when things are silly and always remember how very much I love you.  I’m so proud of you. You are growing up to be such a special little boy, just as I knew you would be.  I can’t wait to see all that you learn this year.

When I look at this picture, I will always smile when I look at your crooked little haircut  and your cut on your chin (from a ‘faceplant’ at the park the day before!)  just the way you were on your first day of school.. perfectly you.

Molly – As you go into the first year of preschool, I hope you learn new things everyday too. I hope you discover the world is an amazing place with so much for you to take in.  I hope you learn how to share (you little stinker aren’t so great at that, yet!) Enjoy the girlie toys and know you don’t have to stick to just trains, planes, and cars like you play with your brother at home (unless you want to of course.)  Sing and dance at the end of every day. Let your new friends hear your sweet laughter.  Keep reading all the books you love so much. I can’t wait to see how much you will grow this year.  I know you are going to be great.  Don’t forget, no matter how big you get, you will always be my little girl.

I will always giggle when I see your little pebbles hairstyle and think of the way you yelled ‘bump-kin’ all morning – since you are in the PUMPKIN class!

Some of the two together that make me realize just how fast time is going…

All Smiles!

Rick, Jackson and Molly came with me to my session last night.  Jackson went to school with Ella last year and even though he often talked about her – we sadly never even had a playdate.  I was so excited when Tami called and wanted to do family pictures because we knew we’d have to make it a playdate too! I’m not sure who was more excited – the parents or the kids :)

They greeted us with their faces against the windows. Peaking through the glass with a smile creeping out of their little mouths and the slightly hesitant excitement in their eyes.  Ella and Evan were excited to play but looked like they were a tiny bit unsure just who was coming over.  Ella looked out the window at Jackson, Jackson looked up from the car at Ella – You could see them trying to figure out how they were friends, yet hadn’t seen each other. They were so funny trying to make sense of it.  After a hop from the car and a few climbed stairs later, it was as if they hadn’t missed a beat.  Only this time, Jackson had the bonus of big brother Evan to play with too!  Molly was timid at first, but quickly jumped right in with the three of them.  After Tami packed everything up and Nate picked up some yummy pizza, we packed everyone in the car and headed out for our session/family playdate on the beach!

Plain and simple, these guys radiate happy as a family.   You can see it the way they play, you can see it the way they look at each other, you can see it the way they interact.  It didnt take long to see this was going to be a fun session filled with love and joy across their faces.  One of my favorite things about watching them was to see just how much they love each other.  It’s written all over them.  Evan couldn’t sit close enough to Nate.  Ella couldn’t run fast enough to Tami. Tami and Nate couldn’t wait for their kissing ’shot!’ hehe… It is nothing short of amazing when you are graced by the presence of a family who stands for everything family should be.  Thank you for allowing me the honor to share that with your family!
Now onto the fun stuff..  With such a gorgeous family – how can you go wrong, right!  Check out where happiness lives.. I’m quite sure you’ll be smiling too.

This picture struck me in my mommy core.  I feel like every mom out there can relate to this.  The wind blown hair – the tight grip of tiny hands holding on for comfort. The snuggled little face in your neck and shoulder.  That’s a moment I want to remember 20 years from now. I’m guessing Tami does too.

I am so grateful when clients become friends.  As soon as we were welcomed into your home we felt like we were friends for years.  Thank you for opening your home and your evening to our family.  We can’t wait to play again soon!  We will be in touch very soon.
